What to know when visiting Colfax Assembly
"What should I wear?"
Clothing would be nice. We like to say that our dress-code
is "please do." Our worship services are purposefully casual without an
official dress
code - we want you to be comfortable. You'll only see our pastor in a tie if
someone's getting married or buried!
"What should I expect in church?"
You should expect to be warmly welcomed by one of our
friendly greeters - but you won't be singled out as a visitor. We won't slap a
name-tag on you!
You should expect dynamic contemporary worship. Yes, we are a
Pentecostal church, so you can expect some people will raise their hands in
worship - but not everyone. You'll have complete freedom to join in with gusto
or observe and reflect.
You should expect a challenging message from God's Word, the
Bible - but you won't need a theology degree to follow along. Messages are
intentionally designed to engage the heart and the mind with an eye toward
putting it into practice.
"What will be expected of me if I visit?"
We believe in a "no experience necessary" approach to
worshipping with us. You are free to participate in whichever aspects of the
worship service you desire - you won't be singled out in any way. We have no
secret hand-shakes or confusing rituals.
You won't be asked to volunteer for anything or join anything or
purchase anything.
And...you won't be asked for money.
We do receive tithes and offerings during our worship service, but we want you
to let the offering bag pass you by, guilt-free. The ministries of this church
are supported by the tithes and offerings of those who call Colfax Assembly
their home church.
"What's available for my kids?"
We have an exciting Children's Church for 1st-6th graders,
a special class for our 3 yr-K kids, and a quality Nursery for infants and
toddlers. We have cool discipleship classes for teenagers and for kids that meets at 9:00AM.
Children of all ages are welcome to stay with you during the worship service as
well.
